Abandoned brick church building at the corner of Hoagland Road and Clayton Road in rural southeast Allen County, Indiana. The church has been converted into a barn or garage. The crossroads is visible in the foreground and the church is reflected in a large puddle of water across the street. The windows are boarded up with gray metal sheeting. The sky is full of dark storm clouds and it rained right after I made the photograph.

I discovered this abandoned brick church at the corner of Hoagland Road and Clayton Road in southeast Allen County while driving to the nearby town of Monroeville back in January, 2008. The weather was bad that day, as it was very windy, so I marked the map and vowed to return. I made this photograph on my third trip there, the first time I was able to find the right light without a lot of wind. It was Easter Sunday. It rained a few minutes after I made this photograph.

The church had a newer addition attached to the right side of it that looked to have been built specifically to serve as a barn or garage to store farm equipment, while the original church building also appeared to have been converted to a garage or storage barn.

I made several photographs of this building. See the next photograph of this church on Hoagland Road.
