I made this photograph on New Years Day, 2001. The entire house was full of ice and snow, even downstairs. I walked up a narrow stairway covered in ice with no handrail to find this dress in the attic. The house was torn down the next day, as I expected it would; there was a bulldozer in front of the house.
This house was one of the most interesting places that I have found. I photographed the dress in the attic, living room, kitchen, bathroom, and the outside of the house.
