Old schoolhouse on the corner Barkley Road and Fackler Road, southest Allen County near Monroeville. I found this place one day after driving south from New Haven but did not get good photographs that day because the light was harsh and sunny that day. Returning to it a few weeks later, I came from Fort Wayne heading east on Barkley instead of coming from the north as I had before. As I drove along Barkley Road, I saw an abandoned house sticking above the trees to the south. That house was Richard Youse's house, which was not at all abandoned. Mr. Youse would be a friend and subject for several years after.
